- Ending the US occupation in Iraq and Afghanistan
- Dismantling the American military industrial complex
- Universal health care in the US (more than 10% of Americans are uncovered by the current health care system)
- Repeal of the Patriot Act under which many of the traditional civil liberties of Americans and non-Americans can be suspended during the War on Terror
- Slowing global warming through new programs to get energy from renewable resources such as wind and solar power
- Supporting the right of gay people to marry
